If you have a VT malfunction, please do the following:-
The first step is to call 13 25 23 and report the malfunction. You will need to provide some information about the license, unit, area of operation and steps taken to rectify the malfunction.
You should be granted a 48hr exemption to operate
You will need to complete this form. The first 2 pages of this document also explains the manual exemption process.
The next step is to contact your supplier to arrange repairs/replacement. You have to have done this to get your exemption extended.
After you have been in contact with your supplier – get back in contact with FQ to discuss any extension required (beyond the initial 48hours) for your exemption. Provided that you have all of the information, you will be granted an extension. NOTE: Extensions are only given during business hours – so you MUST be mindful of weekends and holidays!
If you are not provided an extension – please call QSIA for assistance.
YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO FISH WITH A MALFUNCTIONING VT DEVICE -- PROVIDED YOU ARE MAKING (AND CAN PROVE) AN EFFORT TO HAVE YOUR EXISTING UNIT REPAIRED.
