QSIA News Posts

Posted in Industry News

The news posts on this website have reflected a range of issues that QSIA members have advised are important.  The posts also provide you an opportunity to raise issues that are significant to the way in which we operate.  I am aiming for as balanced a view as possible but like most posts / blogs the stories reflect a view/opinion but not the only view on a given topic.

QSIA members have been asked to share their views and more posts are in development.  Two key features of the posts are (1) evidence, data, reports etc will accompany posts and (2) no post will go onto the site anonymously.  Debate and alternate views on issues of the day for my members are an important way to engage on the dozens of issues facing this great industry.

Unlike our detractors, we offer those who read the blog and feel a right of reply exists to please send your response to eo@qsia.com.au – I will circulate amongst my Board and a reply may be printed.

Finally, I will not apologise for the content of posts, debate, new ideas and challenging the status quo.  Information is a key service to my members and the success of the posts suggests we have an active communications platform that provides commercial fishers with a unique opportunity to showcase issues that matter to them.
