About our new membership categories:
Retired Member
Allows retired fishers to stay involved in, and support, the industry. This will ensure that the knowledge these members have is not lost to QSIA and the industry. Full voting rights.
Requires evidence of a minimum 10 years’ experience in the Commercial fishing industry (including pre and post-harvest).
Industry Member
Provides a connection point for new entrants or individuals actively working within Queensland’s wild-caught fishing industry - including skippers, deckhands, crew, and operators. This category ensures that those directly involved in fishing activities remain informed, connected, and supported through our organisation’s network, without the formalities of a voting membership.
It is a pathway to becoming a full member with voting rights. Membership at this level is only available for two years, after which the member will be required to move to the correct membership level.
Supporter
Open to individuals, organisations and seafood consumers interested in supporting the mission and staying informed on sector developments.
Engages our wider network of individuals, professionals, and organisations who wish to support and stay connected to our work without participating in governance.
