Understanding the value of volunteering

Posted in Industry News

Volunteering is a significant contributor to the social/cultural and economic fabric of our communities.  The Australian seafood industry is comprised of hundreds of volunteers giving their time to volunteering amongst our local communities and government advisory agencies.

There is no information regarding the extent and value of our collective contributions to the community or our industry regarding our volunteer efforts.  This industry volunteers on 3 levels – (1) volunteering with community groups, (2) volunteering with industry bodies and (3) volunteering with government agencies.

The survey findings will help us gain a better understanding of the impacts of this industry’s volunteer efforts.
